We recently bought a new plot of land about 20 meters from the original plot in San Dionisio Ocotepec. For those that have visited the Wahaka Mezcal palenque but didn’t tour these lands, it’s about 100 meters on the road out of San Dio toward Guila (by the corporate offices). It’s a short walk past the nursery and roughly 40 meters by 10 meters (about 4,000 sq. ft) in size. It should be able to accommodate another 1000 to 2000 agave plants.
We’ve started planting Tobalá pups there which had carefully germinated and had been growing in our nursery. These are slow growing plants so expect more photos as time goes by. They’ll be ready to reforest in three or four years. Remember — our stay on this planet is a marathon; not a sprint.
